When landing to Dubrovnik you may first think about two things: how to get the local currency and how to get to Dubrovnik. There are exchange offices at the airport but their exchange rates are commonly unfavourable. Consider exchanging just enough to get you to the city and to have some some cash on you , and wait to find a closest bank and exchange your money there. You will easily find banks in Dubrovnik, several are located even on the main street in the Old Town.
Secondly, there are buses that will take you from the airport to Dubrovnik centre. Buses depart sporadically, in connection with regularly scheduled arrival flights. The buses make the first stop at Pile, the main gate of the Old Town, and continue to the main bus terminal, located in the commercial port of Gruz. Return buses to the airport start out from this terminal two hours before regularly scheduled departures. Alternatively, a taxi will cost you around 250 kn.
